Children’s Leisure
About the Collection
Children’s Leisure is a Fall/Winter 2016 womenswear collection that visually portrays traditional children’s activities that do not include commercial products. The collection shifts the focus from mainstream activities of the 21st century, which mainly consists of technology, to traditional games that require minimal props and equipment. These folk games are learned from each other, often passed down from generations, child to child. Exploring the concept of children’s leisure, the activities will be translated into design elements. The collection will incorporate subtle references to activities like jump-roping, hopscotch and paper craft. Playing with organic shapes and silhouettes, this collection conveys the idea of childhood playfulness, and also mimics the nostalgic visions of the simple traditional folk games.
