About the Collection
The Fall/Winter 2016 collection Wick is inspired by the English countryside. I found inspiration from both organic shapes and structures and human contrived structures. I looked to the balance between nature, and taming the wild. I also drew inspiration from Anglo-Saxon treasure hoards found in the English countryside, drawing on them for their use of colour and geometric patterning. Wick also makes use of historic construction techniques in the production of the collection. The collection title is a reference to the Yorkshire dialects meaning of wick which is alive. The collection is intended to convey a sense of juxtaposition of structure, and wild, a feeling of other worldliness, of being out of place and time. This collection is intended for an age range of 28-45, and is set mid-range price point.
