About the Collection
Dahlia’ is a Medieval Fantasy costume collection for a television series. The series has many leading characters. This collection is for one character in the ensemble name Dahlia. Dahlia’s character and situation influenced this collection. She is an active, confident and tough young woman who lives in a large kingdom that she is to inherit and rule. Her kingdom is surrounded by forest. This collection’s main inspiration is ‘Woodlands’. The collection features various textures and neutral colours through the fabric. The silhouettes are interpretations of historical European Medieval dress. This includes A-Line gowns, boned bodices, large sleeves, lacing and layering. The use of fur and metal help show her status as well as her masculine nature.
