About the Collection
Taking inspiration from De Stijl, a Dutch Constructivist movement from 1917 to 1931, NANCY MAC S/S 16 features vertical and horizontal motifs as unique style-lines, centred around basic garment design features to ensure versatility and wear-ability. Fabrics are used in unique colour blocking combinations within the clothing, which is reminiscent of De Stijl’s eccentric use of colour and shape. NANCY MAC S/S 16 takes De Stijl’s key idea of pure geometric abstraction and interprets it into a modern and wearable spring/summer collection for dynamic and directional women living and working within Canada.
